Jharkhand Polls: BJP trails as JMM-CONGRESS are in lead.
With election trends showing clear lead for the alliance, celebrations have begun in the JMM and Congress camp with party workers bursting crackers and offering sweets to those assembled there after Jharkhand polls
Jharkhand polls seems to be slipping from the BJP’s hands. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress alliance crossed the majority, shooting ahead of the ruling BJP- 40 seats to 30, as votes for the Jharkhand election are in counting.
The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led grand alliance in Jharkhand is confident of wrestling power from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-AJSU alliance government led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das.
Hemant Soren, the JMM chief joined hands with Congress, and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Party (RJD) to form the grand alliance for the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections.
As per the Election Commission’s party-wise trends and results, BJP is leading on 29 seats, while the Congress-JMM-RJD alliance is leading on 40. AJSU and JVM have four seats each.
Incumbent CM Raghubar Das has said the BJP will return to power in Jharkhand. On trends indicating Congress-JMM’s win, Raghubar Das said counting trends not the final word.
The incumbent CM, however, added that the BJP will emerge victorious in Jharkhand. “We are not only winning but also forming the [Jharkhand] government under the leadership of BJP in the state,” Raghubar Das said.
