Political leaders react over a controversial booklet on Savarkar.
Ranjeet Savarkar, the grandson of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, demands an immediate ban on the book that claims the veteran leader had a homosexual relationship with Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse.
“Immediate inquiry should be initiated in the matter and criminal case should be filed,” says Ranjeet Savarkar. He asked the Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray to look into the matter and take action.
The booklet, titled ‘How brave was Veer Savarkar’, is allegedly distributed in an All India Congress Seva Dal training camp run by the Congress in Bhopal.

Maharashtra leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis on Friday slams Congress for its ‘distorted mentality’ towards Hindu Mahasabha co-founder VD Savarkar.
“Veer Savarkar Ji is undoubtedly one of the greatest freedom fighters and inspiration for all of us! Congress party has shown its distorted mentality by distributing a book that uses extremely cheap, insulting words for Veer Savarkar Ji. Congress shows its mental bankruptcy,” says Fadnavis.
“BJP strongly condemns this book. Balasaheb Thackeray Ji never tolerated such dirty words against Savarkar Ji. He would’ve been the first to react and that too in his style. We expect an immediate ban on this book by Maharashtra CM.” : Fadnavis.
Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha president Swami Chakrapani on Friday calls the allegations as “ridiculous”. “Similarly, we have also heard that Rahul Gandhi is homosexual,” says Swami Chakrapani while countering the below-the-belt allegations.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh also slams the Congress party for claiming VD Savarkar’s physical relationship with Nathuram Godse. “The day is not far when Congress will read a book on how good a leader Jinnah was. They idealize Jinnah and that the reason why they abuse Savarkar,” says Giriraj Singh.
“Veer Savarkar was a great man and will remain a great man. A section keeps talking against him. This shows the dirt in their minds. Brains of the people who are insulting Savarkar should be tested first,” says Sanjay Raut on Savarkar controversy
