Delhi Elections: AAP releases its poll manifesto.
With Delhi Assembly elections just around the corner, AAP releases its party manifesto. The Aam Aadmi Party seeking to retain power in Delhi makes no mistake in their poll manifesto. AAP promises quality education, health, 24-hour electricity, clean water and many other sops in its election manifesto.
Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia releases the party manifesto as “28-point guarantee card”. While releasing the manifesto he also said about the party’s vision. “AAP’s vision is to enable every common man to live with dignity and prosperity.”
Ahead of assembly elections on February 8, AAP also promises to continue its efforts for the passage of Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill. “The Delhi Jan Lokpal Bill was passed in Delhi Vidhan Sabha in 2015. It is pending with the central government for the last four years. The AAP government will continue its struggle for passage of the bill,” says Manish Sisodia.
A look at AAP’s Manifesto.
There are several other key promises in the Aam Aadmi Party’s election manifesto. It promises to introduce the doorstep delivery of ration. This is to ensure accountability and transparency in the supply of ration.
The party also promises to continue its efforts for full statehood for Delhi within the constitutional framework. “Our proposal for full statehood is defined in the draft State of Delhi Bill 2016 brought out by the current AAP government. We will use our social, political and moral authority to achieve full statehood for Delhi.”
The party also promises to give free pilgrimage to 10 lakh senior citizens. The manifesto reads that it will take 10 lakh, senior citizens, on ‘Teerth Yatra’ in the coming five years. This is because “the senior citizens rarely fulfil their own wishes. They are mostly busy in the upbringing of their children. AAP takes this responsibility of fulfilling the senior citizen’s wishes.”
After the success of Happiness curriculum and Entrepreneurship curriculum, AAP promises to now introduce Desh Bhakti Curriculum. Apart from this the manifesto also promises to provide spoken English and personality development classes for students.
AAP’s manifesto also promises for beautiful and world-class roads for Delhi. It reads that they will redesign Delhi roads into safer roads to help all the users.
Apart from all these the two other promises that catch our eyes is, one compensation of Rs 1 crore to the kin of sanitation worker if he dies on duty. Second, to build 24×7 markets on a pilot basis in the commercial areas. AAP also promises to increase women participation in the economy.
Political war in Delhi.
While AAP will look to retain its power in the national capital, BJP will look to make a comeback in Delhi after two decades. Whereas Congress seems to be looking to take back control in Delhi.
