PM Modi announces to constitute a trust for construction of Ram Mandir.
PM Modi in the Parliament today announces to constitute a trust which would look after the construction of Ram Mandir. The announcement comes after three months of the Supreme Court’s verdict on the historic Ayodhya case.
Before coming to the Parliament, the Prime Minister and the Union Cabinet held a meeting regarding Ram Mandir construction. Soon after the meeting Modi announces in Lok Sabha, “The Union Cabinet gives its nod to set up a trust for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.”
“Shri Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Shetra, is the name of the trust that will look after the construction of the temple. Also the UP government has agreed to give 5 acres of land to Sunni Wakf board,” says PM Modi.
The Prime Minister calls for everyone to come forward and support the construction of Ram Mandir. “Let us all support the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.”
As soon as the announcement was made chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ were heard in the lok sabha. BJP’s former ally Shiv Sena welcomes the announcement. But Congress puts forward its suspicion regarding the timing of the announcement.
According to the Supreme Court’s verdict on November 9, 2019, the government had to form a trust before Feb 9, 2020. The central government was given 3 months time to constitute a trust that will look after the construction of Ram Mandir.
With Delhi Assembly elections on February 8, Congress thinks this announcement to be a political campaign. However, the Election Commission clarifies that there is no violation of rules since it is a state election.
“This is the decision taken for a temple in Ayodhya. Nothing to do with Delhi. The whole country is not under elections. Let us not confuse the situation,” says Union Minister Prakash Javedkar.
15 Member Trust with one Dalit.
Home Minister Amit Shah announces that the trust will comprise of 15 trustees with one member from Dalit community. His announcement comes a few hours after the Prime Minister announces the constitution of trust.
“There will be 15 trustees in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Out of which one trustee will always be from the Dalit society,” rweets Amit Shah.
“I fully believe that the waiting of millions of people for centuries will be over soon. They will be able to offer prayers to Lord Shri Ram in his grand temple at his birthplace,” he adds further.
Amit Shah congratulates Modi for his decision and commitment for the construction of Ram Mandir. He says that PM’s effort will strengthen the social harmony.
Wakf Board too forms a Trust.
After the Prime Minister’s announcement of constituting a trust to build the Ram Mandir, the Sunni Wakf board too forms a trust. ‘Indo Islamic Culture Trust’ is the name of the trust for the Wakf board. This trust is build to manage the allotment of to alternative land to the Muslims in the historic Ayodhya case.
“The trust will ensure the construction of hospitals, schools, libraries, public utility infrastructure and institutions. This will encourage Islamic cultural activities and other social activities,” say sources.
