There seems no immediate stopping of the spread of novel coronavirus infection yet. For the fourth consecutive day, India records over 3,000 new cases. According to the Ministry of Health, 3,320 new cases are recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of Covid19 cases in India now stands at 59,662. India is now slowly inching closer to 60,000 mark as cases continue to spike. The active cases in India currently stands at 39,834. Recovery rate of patients is now 29.91 percent as 17,847 patients are cured and discharged.

“The number of active COVID-19 cases stand at 39,834, while 17,846 people have recovered and one patient has migrated. Thus, around 29.91 per cent patients have recovered so far,” says the Health Ministry.

Fatalities in 24 hours.

The last 24 hours in India also records 95 deaths, thus increasing the number of fatalities. The death toll now mounts to 1,981, slowly inching towards 2,000 mark. Maharashtra reports 37 fatalities in the last 24 hours, Gujarat reports 24 fatalities, 9 in West Bengal and 7 in Madhya Pradesh.

Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh both report 4 deaths, 3 each from Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Two deaths are reported from Delhi and one each from Punjab and Haryana. 

Balloon of cases.

The cases of novel coronavirus keeps on increasing like a balloon in the country. Topping the list, Maharashtra continues to give anxiety to the central government. Owing to its lead over all the other states, Maharashtra reports a total of 19,063 cases so far. Mumbai and Pune account for over 90 percent of the total cases in Maharashtra. Fatality figure of Maharashtra counts to 731 so far.

Gujarat now becomes the second worst hit state by the global pandemic. Almost 300 new cases comes into light in the last 24 hours. The overall number of cases in Gujarat is 7,402 now with 449 fatalities. Delhi is also witnessing a spike in coronavirus cases as the total reaches 6,318 cases. Tamil Nadu also crosses the 6,000 mark taking the total number of cases to 6,009. 

The cases continue to rise in other states as well amid the ongoing third phase of nationwide lockdown. ICMR has recently announced to begin the testing for asymptomatic cases in 75 districts across India in the wake of Covid19 pandemic. This is mainly to test for the possibility of community transmission.

Global Scenario.

The novel coronavirus pandemic has the entire world worried for their future. Everyday the fatalities and number of positive cases keep on rising globally. Every nation is trying hard to fight the pandemic and emerge out of it triumphantly.

The global count as per the reports from WHO, increases by 87,729 in the last 24 hours. Globally, the total number of Covid19 cases now stands at 3,759,967. More than 5,400 people have died in the last 24 hours across the world. The global death toll rises to 259,474.

The United States continues to lead the world in terms of total number of Covid19 patients with 1.2 million cases and 67,146 fatalities.
