India records highest single-day spike with 5,242 new cases, Covid19 tally crosses 96,000 mark.
India records a biggest single-day spike in Covid19 cases with 5,242 new patients till date. According to the Union Health Ministry, the coronavirus tally in the country crosses the 96,000 mark in the last 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus cases in India now stands at 96,169.
India is inching closer towards one lakh mark and looking at the single-day spikes it will be no shock if we reach 1 lakh mark tomorrow. The number of fatalities in the last 24 hours also increases with 157 new deaths. Total number of fatalities in India now stands at 3029.
The total active cases in the country is 56,316 and the total number of patients recovered so far stands 36,823. The highest single-day spike in cases comes on the day when India is entering into the fourth phase of lockdown.
Cases and Fatalities.
Maharashtra remains the worst hit state with 33,053 cases. Gujarat occupies the second spot with 11,379 Covid19 cases. Tamil Nadu is witnessing a sudden spike in positive coronavirus cases and is now at third spot with 11,224 cases. The National Capital, Delhi is at the fourth position with 10,054 cases.
Talking about the fatalities, Maharashtra again bags the first spot. It reports 1,198 fatalities so far in the state. Gujarat also remains at the second spot and reports 659 deaths so far. Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal have reported 248 fatalities each. Delhi’s total number of fatalities stands at 160.
Rajasthan reports 131 deaths so far, Uttar Pradesh reports 104 deaths, Tamil Nadu reports 78 fatalities and Andhra Pradesh 50. All these states are fighting a difficult battle to contain the spread and fatalities that the coronavirus pandemic is causing.
