India yet again witnesses a whopping surge of 15,968 Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours. Everyday India records a highest single-day spike in Covid19 cases. The total Covid19 tally of the nation now stands at 4,56,183 and death toll stands at 14,476 as per the Union Health Ministry. In the last 24 hours 465 new fatalities are recorded in India.
Though the Covid19 cases are on rise, India finds relief in the improving recovery rate which is more than 55 percent. Currently India’s recovery rate stands at 56.7 percent. Looking at the figures, the total number of recovered cases in India are 2,58,684. India’s active Covid19 cases stand at 1,83,022.
While the country is slowly limping back to pre-covid19 days following Unlock 1.0, the cases keep on rising. As people are trying to live an ordinary life, the rising positive cases in the country are instilling fear in them.
Maharashtra continues to be the top ranker in India’s Covid19 tally. With 1,39,010 cases Maharashtra is leading the Indian states. Surpassing Tamil Nadu, Delhi manages to bag the second position with 66,602 Covid19 cases. Tamil Nadu now stands at third position with 64,603 Covid19 cases.
Gujarat is also witnessing a surge in Covid19 patients and currently has 28,371 cases. Followed by Uttar Pradesh (18,893), Rajasthan (15,627), West Bengal (14,728) and Madhya Pradesh (12,261).
Delhi’s single-day spike higher than Maharashtra.
As per the latest reports of Union Health Ministry, Delhi’s single-day spike on Wednesday is higher than Maharashtra. Delhi records a jump of 3,947 new cases on Wednesday while Maharashtra records 3,214 new cases.
With the rising cases in Delhi there are speculations that soon the national capital will surpass Maharashtra’s Covid19 cases. Over 2.5 lakh cases have been recorded in the country since June 1 till date. Almost 70 percent of the cases come from Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Currently India is in the first phase of unlock after going through four phases of nationwide lockdown. Though it seems like the lockdown has not been able to meet its true expectations as the country continues to witness daily surge in fresh cases.
