India yet again witnesses a whopping rise of 18,552 Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours. Everyday India records a highest single-day spike in Covid19 cases. The Covid19 cases in India crosses 5 lakh mark on Saturday morning. The total Covid19 tally of the nation now stands at 5,08,953.
The death toll in the country also crosses the 15,000 mark. The fatality count of India now stands at 15,685 as per the Union Health Ministry. In the last 24 hours 384 new fatalities are recorded in India.
Though the Covid19 cases are on rise, India finds relief in the improving recovery rate which is more than 55 percent. Currently India’s recovery rate stands at 58.25 percent. Looking at the figures, the total number of recovered cases in India are 2,95,881. India’s active Covid19 cases stand at 1,97,387.
While the country is slowly limping back to pre-covid19 days following Unlock 1.0, the cases keep on rising. As people are trying to live an ordinary life, the rising positive cases in the country are instilling fear in them.
Maharashtra continues to be the top ranker in India’s Covid19 tally. With 1,52,765 cases Maharashtra is leading the Indian states. Surpassing Tamil Nadu, Delhi manages to bag the second position with 77,240 Covid19 cases. Tamil Nadu now stands at third position with 74,622 Covid19 cases.
Gujarat is also witnessing a surge in Covid19 patients and currently has 30,095 cases. Followed by Uttar Pradesh (20,943), Rajasthan (16,660), West Bengal (16,190) and Haryana (12,884).
Covid19 World Ranking.
India is just below Russia with the fourth highest number of Covid19 cases in the world. Russia’s total Covid19 cases stand at 6.19 lakh while that of India stands at 5.08 lakh. The US still continues to lead the world Covid19 tally with 24.67 lakh cases. Brazil stands next to the US with 12,74,000 Covid19 cases.
In India more than 2.5 lakh cases have been recorded in the country since June 1 till date. Almost 70 percent of the cases come from Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Currently India is in the first phase of unlock after going through four phases of nationwide lockdown. Though it seems like the lockdown has not been able to meet its true expectations as the country continues to witness daily surge in fresh cases.
Regressive testing of Covid19.
Indian Council of Medical Research is trying to speed up the testing of Covid19 cases in the country. Regressive testing of Covid19 is the only key to tackle the spread of the novel coronavirus. According to ICMR, it is trying to attain a capacity to conduct 4 lakh testing per day to stop the spread of COVID19.
“The governing body meeting entirely focused on COVID-19 pandemic. Talks were on to strengthen our testing capacity, strong surveillance of contact tracing and proper treatment to an infected person. ICMR is making all possible efforts to scale up testing capacity to four lakh each day,” says an official.
Currently India has 1,000 laboratories including government and private labs. This has increased the testing capacity of the country. In the last 24 hours, 2,20,479 samples have been tested. As per ICMR reports, the total number of testing in India stands at 79,96,707.
