Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan tests Covid19 positive. The news of Shivraj Singh Chouhan testing positive came on Saturday afternoon. He himself shares the news through his Twitter handle saying that he was having Covid19-like symptoms. Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the first CM to test positive for Covid19.
“My dear countrymen, I was showing symptoms of Covid-19. I went through the tests and the results have come back positive. I urge all those who came in contact with me in recent days to get themselves tested. All those close to me should go into quarantine,” tweets Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He is admitted to Chirayu hospital in Bhopal.
“I will follow all the guidelines (as mandated by the government). As per the doctors’ advice, I shall go into quarantine. I appeal everyone to be careful since carelessness can make you get infected. I have always tried to avoid corona but people used to meet on various issues,” adds the MP Chief Minister.
The news of Madhya Pradesh CM, Shivraj Singh Chouhan testing positive for Covid19 comes two days after State Cabinet Minister Arvind Bhadoria tested positive for Covid19. Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with Arvind Bhadoria and state BJP President VD Sharma attended the funeral of Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon on July 21 in Lucknow.
After coming back from the funeral Arvind Bhadoria and VD Sharma got themselves tested for Covid19. While Bhadoria’s result came back positive, VD Sharma’s result came back negative. According to sources, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan began to show symptoms like cough from Friday evening onwards.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan was regularly holding cabinet meetings since March 25 to review the coronavirus situation in the state. All ministries in charge of health, medical education, home and chief secretary and DGP used to attend the meeting everyday. With Shivraj Singh Chouhan testing positive for Covid19, now state Home Minister, Narottam Mishra will conduct the daily meetings to review the Covid19 preparation and measures.
Other members who will be a part of the meeting are, Minister of Urban Development and Administration, Bhuppendra Siingh, Minister of Health Education, Vishvas Sarang and state Health Minister, Dr. Prabhuram Choudhary. Shivraj Singh Chouhan assures his well-wishers that there is no need to panic. He also says that he would continue to work through video conferencing as much as possible despite his medical condition.
“No need to panic, If coronavirus is treated in time, it is curable. I have been reviewing the status of coronavirus infections every evening since March 25. I will try to review this via video conferencing as much as possible now,” tweets Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
