PM Modi inaugurates 750 MW solar plant, Asia’s largest in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. This solar plant will reduce the emission of approximately 15 lakh tonne of carbon dioxide every year. Asia’s largest Mega Solar Power Project comprises of three solar generating units each of 250 MW. 

PM Modi inaugurates the Rewa Solar Power Project through video conferencing. The Rewa Solar project is one of the largest single-site solar power plants in Asia. It is set up on 1,590 hectare of land in Gurh tehsil of Rewa. Each of the three units are located on a 500 hectare plot inside the Solar Park. 

“Today, Rewa has really created history. This place has been identified with mother Narmada and white tiger. Now the name of Asia’s largest solar power project has also been attached to it,” says PM Modi during the inauguration. ”This solar plant of Rewa will help in making this entire area a big centre of energy in this decade,” PM adds further.

Sure, Pure and Secure.

At the inauguration of the Rewa Solar Power Project, PM Modi through video conferencing stressed on the need of solar energy. He says that solar energy is a sure, pure and secure medium for the energy needs. “Not just for the present, solar energy will be a medium of energy needs of the 21st century because solar power is sure, pure and secure.”

This project is the first renewable energy project which will benefit institutional customers outside the state. According to PM Modi, Delhi Metro will also receive the benefits from the Rewa Solar Power Project. Similar solar power projects are underway in Chhatarpur, Neemuch and Shajapur.

“With this solar power project, the people of Madhya Pradesh and the industries set up here will not only get electricity, but even the metro rail in Delhi will get benefits from it. Apart from Rewa, similar work is underway at Shajapur, Neemuch and Chhatarpur,” says PM Modi.

PM Congratulates Rewa.

Inaugurating the Rewa Solar Power Project PM Modi congratulates the people of Rewa for this achievement. He says that Rewa will now become a big centre of energy in this decade. PM Modi also says that this project will help the people of Madhya Pradesh especially the poor, farmers and middle-class people.

“I congratulate the people of Rewa and Madhya Pradesh and give them my best wishes. When all these projects are ready, Madhya Pradesh will definitely become a hub of cheap and clean electricity. The biggest benefit of this project will be to the poor, middle-class families, farmers and tribals of the state.”

Speaking of Atmanirbhar Bharat, PM Modi says that self-sufficiency in electricity is very important for the dream of self-reliant India. He says that as India is reaching new heights of development, so are the needs of energy and electricity. “When we talk about self-reliance and progress, the economy is an important aspect. Policymakers from all over the world have been in dilemma for years whether to think about the economy or environment.”

“As we are launching large projects of renewable energy, we are also making sure that our determination towards clean energy is visible in every aspect of life. We are trying that its benefits reach every corner of the country, every section of society, every citizen,” says PM Modi.

India’s Solar Power- The Most Attractive Market.

India’s solar power projects are now acknowledged around the world. It has become the most attractive market of clean energy. PM Modi says that India is now the biggest hope and attraction for the modern world. He also talks about the idea of one-world, one-sun and one-grid which will fulfill the needs of mankind. 

“India is a role model, globally, whenever there are talks of renewable energy sources. The idea behind the ‘One World, One Sun and One Grid’ is to fulfill the energy needs of many smaller nations on the planet,” says PM Modi.
